INNOPEN MEDICAL MICRONEEDLING
The InnoPen is a new state of the art microneedling device that induces collagen and elastin production which decreases wrinkles, fine lines, darkspots, stretch marks and acne scars. Microneedling results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks. The treatment is usually combined with a topical treatment, such as a vitamin-rich serum. The InnoPen is made in the USA and was recently approved by Health Canada in the spring of 2017. The treatment is now available at SKIN Quesnel.
Benefits of the InnoPen:
Intensifies trans-dermal delivery of topical serums
Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles
Rejuvenates the skin by improving skin tone and texture
Minimizes stretch marks
Restores a more youthful appearance by effectively tightening, lifting and thickening the skin
Improves the appearance of scars
Reduces pore size
Increases absorption of cosmeceutical solutions
How it Works
During your treatment, a device consisting of tiny needles is carefully moved over areas of the skin. The micro-piercings created by the device stimulate production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Your skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis (inner skin layer) with a softening and reduction in lines and wrinkles. The InnoPen creates superficial micro-channels which allow customized nutrient serums, such as a vitamin C-serum or other serum chosen based on desired outcome, to be absorbed more effectively into the skin, enhancing treatment outcomes
The InnoPen Treatment Experience
At your appointment at SKIN Quesnel, one of our trained technicians will start by cleansing the skin and applying a topical numbing cream 30 minutes before starting treatment. Your technician will then adjust the speed of the reciprocating needle tip for optimal results and to minimize any discomfort. A topical serum is applied before you leave. Some patients associate the feeling of treatment with the sensation of sandpaper being moved across the skin.
Immediately after your InnoPen microneedling treatment your skin may appear slightly red. The topical serum applied at the end of your treatment will help control any minor bleeding and will increase absorption of the cosmeceutical solution. The total healing time depends on the depth of needles used and the number of overlapping passes. On average, patients experience mild redness and swelling for two to four days. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.
Treatment Plans & Results
Patients generally require 4-5 sessions to receive optimal results. The first 3 treatments should be spaced 2 weeks apart, and the last 2-3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced sun damage, stretch marks or deeper acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at two to four week intervals. Our patients often notice an immediate “glow” to their skin within a couple of days. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to six months after the treatment as collagen and elastic production continues. Further benefits can be achieved and maintained through incorporating a cosmeceutical skin care program like Filorga in your home care program.
